Steve has been part of the WFMB family since 2002, working as a part-time host of the Press box on Wednesday's and Thursdays. Although not a product of a farming family, Bridge is learning everything he can and is getting to know everyone around the area involved in agriculture.

Steve grew up in west central Illinois in Macomb. After graduating from Macomb High School he went on to attend Western. His main focus of education was broadcasting and journalism. Steve's focus to begin with was sports broadcasting. He was the sports anchor on WWIR-TV and the color commentator for the Leatherneck football while in college. Steve's first job took him to northern Illinois and the Forest City, Rockford. After a few years in Rockford as the weekend sports anchor at WREX-TV he moved to Springfield. Bridge worked at WICS-TV for nearly 5 years, leaving the station as the sports director.  Illinois University

Bridge’s wife Dina also works in radio, the two have a little boy born on Christmas Eve who keeps them very busy around their home near Rochester.

Looking at Area Fields

May 15, 2009 -- 10:08am

Well the wet fields are going to continue be soggy for the next few days. Talking with out Weather Eye Meteorologist they say to expect another drenching rain today (Friday May 15). I have spent the last few weekends out on the area roads driving around to see family and I can report just a few fields planted from here to St. Louis on I-55 and one or two fields with emerged corn on IL-125 from Springfield to Macomb. This weekend it's another drive to the Quad Cities and I will be out looking to see if the folks to our northwest have had anymore time out in the fields than we have, I suspect they have not.
